You are a critical part of this important mission!

Wounded Warrior Project Mission

The mission of WWP is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. WWP's purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Wounded Warrior Project Vision

To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.

Wounded Warrior Project History

Wounded Warrior Project began in 2003 as a small, grassroots effort providing simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As their post-service needs evolved, so have our programs and services. Today, through our direct programs in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care, along with our advocacy efforts, we improve the lives of millions of warriors and their families.
This effort requires the passion and commitment of friends, supporters, and like-minded organizations that enable us to fulfill our mission. With their collaboration and support, we strive to ensure that when those who serve come home, they’re afforded every opportunity to be as successful as a civilian as they were in the military.

Many wounded veterans face significant challenges when they return to civilian life, and through the generous support of donors and corporate partners, WPP is able to provide support during their recovery, wherever they are in that process.
